This week has been my first week of school at the College of Saint Rose. Last night I had my first literary concept class, which I found out is just like philosophy. By the end of the 2.5 hours I felt like my brain was fried. I'm glad that UCR's english program was all analytical otherwise I totally wouldn't have done it. Hopefully I'll survive, but phil. isn't my strongest subject. We were talking about "body politic" last night. I was like what the heck is that?! I was pretty boggled, but I think managed to make myself look smart with my awesome bs-ing skills once again. My other two writing classes are a breeze in comparison. Hopefully the workshops won't be too harsh on my writing though. For my fiction writing class the prof told me that she doesn't really critique young adult stuff so I'll have to do adult fiction instead. That kind of bummed me out, but it'll help expand my horizons. The other writing class is a little scary because I have to write a screenplay, which I've never done before. I hadn't actually set eyes on one until that class. Hahah.
The people in my classes seem nice, but they all seem like they're trying to look smart. On the first day of my fiction writing class everyone had to tell who their favorite authors were. People were spitting out names I've never heard of and stuff like Dickens and Kafka. I was the last person to go and by the time they got to me I was just like, umm, I like JK Rowling and Meg Cabot (Princess Diaries). I did throw Jane Austen (Pride and {rejudice) in there just for good measure. But I was like, god, either you're all liars or I'm stupid. Hopefully they're all liars. Hahaha anyways, I've been doing a butt load of reading and Ed's been slaving over his company stuff. He literally goes to sleep around 7am when I'm getting up for work. It's a little ridiculous. I think it's starting to slow down now though so that's good. He's starting to get sick too so he'll have to take a break. I should get back to reading. That’s all folks!
