Wine Tasting

My Mom and I were up and at 'em early to go wine tasting with a group of girlfriends.  One of the ladies had rented us a limo to take us to Napa.  We started at one of our favorite small wineries, Cosentino, for their barrel tasting.  I've always stayed in their front tasting room and never ventured through the other doorways so I had no idea that they had a barrel room that could be rented out for parties.  The only thing that I didn't like about it was that the wines that we were tasting had yet to be bottled (obviously since they were still in the barrel) so we couldn't buy them.

Cosentino put out a nice little charcuterie plate for us.

The wines in the Grand Table Pricing were the ones that we
tried.  My favorite was the Cabernet Franc.

I've only used the panoramic function on my camera one other time so it was
new to me that the flash didn't work.  I think I may have had it on the Auto
setting, but it was so dark in there that the flash should have gone off
automatically as it did for my other pictures.

After much fun at Cosentino, we hopped back into the limo and headed over to the Beringer winery.  It pretty much looked like a castle.  When we went into the caves I couldn't help but say, we're going to the Chamber of Secrets!  We tasted a couple of their reserve wines, but I didn't think that they were anything special. After taking the tour of the caves we didn't stay long and headed over to the Merryvale tasting room.    I had never been to this winery before and loved it.  It's directly across the street from the Saint Helena Gott's Roadside, which would make it very convenient for future tastings and then lunch.

age.
